Acting By Playwright: Agatha Christie, Queen of Crime

Winter is the perfect time for this acting class which explores the world of the actor by using the life and work of a playwright. This time it's Agatha Christie, because, well, what actor wouldn't want to sink their teeth into a murder mystery? With detectives, dead bodies and divas everywhere, what's a poor suspect to do? But is there more to this great writer than meets the eye? Hmm. Sounds like a mystery, which is just the thing for a cold, rainy winter night. Join us as we become acting detectives and look for clues in the writing of Agatha Christie.

A Zoom acting class with a focus on skills for film and theatre. With the atmosphere of a "company of players," you'll work on scenes and monologues, inspired by the instructor's coaching and direction, and there will be the benefit of having the recording to learn from each week. PREPARTORY BALLET CLASSES
PreBallet l
Mondays, January 6 - March 17, 2025 (9 weeks)

3:30-4:15 PM ----- Ages 4 - 5 ----- Tuition: $125
This is a fun, creative introduction to basic ballet movement. Emphasis is on coordination, rhythm, music, and mime using props, rhymes, stories and imagination. Your child will be galloping on a pony, leaping over puddles, and learning movements to accompany their favorite preschool songs! Students will learn basic ballet skills and terminology in a supportive and encouraging environment.
This class transitions from the creative movement aspect of PreBallet l to an emphasis on the fundamentals of ballet. Basic ballet skills, terminology, rhythm, and coordination are taught, practiced, and developed through music and use of props in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Prerequisite Skills: PreBallet ll students must be able to skip and be willing to participate independently without parent.
BEGINNER BALLET CLASSES

This class is for the novice as well as a transition from PreBallet to a more formal ballet class. The fundamentals of ballet and barre work are introduced as well as an emphasis on ballet class etiquette. Focus is on posture, stretching for flexibility, muscle strength, technique and musicality in a disciplined yet encouraging environment.
Prerequisite Skills: One year of Pre-Ballet or formal ballet experience required
Level II and Level III Ballet has been combined into one class on Tuesdays at 4:30 - 5:30 pm.
Level ll and III (Prerequisite: Level l)
Wednesdays, January 8 - March 19, 2025 (11 weeks)
4:30-5:30 PM ---- Ages 7 + --- Tuition: $165
This class is a continuation of the beginner level. Students will continue to build upon the knowledge and skills they developed in level l. Focus will continue on posture, stretching and flexibility, technique, and musicality. To enroll in this level, students must have completed one full year of Level l or be given permission from instructor after attending a placement class.
Prerequisite skill: stand and work comfortably from fifth position feet and have completed 1 full year of Level l or the equivalent previous training and approval by instructor after placement class.
Beginning Tap is a fun and creative introduction to tap dance. Students will focus on coordination and rhythm in an upbeat and encouraging environment. Your child will be introduced to basic tap vocabulary and learn steps to some of their favorite music.
Tap I
Wednesdays, January 8 - March 19, 2025

Tap I is a beginner level tap class focusing on rhythm, musicality and timing. Jazz I

Musical Theatre Dance

Everyone has an amazing family history - but most have no clue how truly remarkable it is, because they have never investigated the generations going far, far back in time. Led by a genealogist and author of 4 family histories, as well as the book Digging for Ancestral Gold, The Fun and Easy Way to Get Started on Your Genealogy Quest. This workshop inspires you to embark on a quest for your ancestral heritage and guides you through the steps to get you started. For those with Beginning to Intermediate experience. Bring your family histories and your questions.

Winter 25 Intro to Musical Theatre with Chloe Brooks
Fridays Jan 10 - Mar 21 (11 weeks)
3:00 - 3:45 PM / Ages 5 - 7 / $175
Intro to Musical Theater will introduce early learners to musical theater through age-appropriate theater games chosen to build beginning skills in acting, dance, and singing. In each class, the structure will begin with play and theater games in one of these three focuses, and then transition to rehearsing for our final showcase! The final showcase will be a short 3-4 min original performance created by Chloe Brooks with input from Students. Students will perform simple choreography and all have a chance to say/sing individual or group lines. The objective of this course is to grow young student's ability to follow direction and work as a troupe, build self-confidence, and instill a sense of accomplishment all within the context of musical theater.
Limited to 10 students.
While practicing through games, play, art, music, and dance, students will discover their inner creativity. Class will be held in the ballet studio which is designed for easy distance awareness. Students will conclude the Spring session with a performance/demo to be performed on the last day of class. Students will be having fun improvising, creating, and playing together each class day.
Each day, campers will meet outside on the front deck to check-in. Once everyone arrives the class will go down to the studio together as a group, limiting hallway crowding. At the end of the day, this will be the same protocol. Remember to bring a snack and get ready to have a wonderful time.
